Middlebury Celebrates Fall Family Weekend!

Every autumn, we invite families to join us at Fall Family Weekend and enjoy Vermont and our beautiful campus with their students. Check in at the Welcome Center and ask your questions, find out about weekend options, get a campus map, and grab some refreshments to take with you.

This event opens with an update from event sponsor Middlebury Veterans Give Back (MVGB) and remarks from President Patton. Presentation by the Arlington National Cemetery’s curator, Rod Gainer. Rod also has a Middlebury connection in that he is the stepson of Joe Wood ’68 and nephew to Peter Wood ’71. This presentation is about our Nation’s perpetual memorial to those who served on behalf of our country.

Join us for a presentation of the Young Alumni Achievement Award to Shabana Basij-Rasikh ’11 in recognition of her accomplishments in providing education opportunities for Afghan girls through the founding of the School of Leadership, Afghanistan (SOLA), a private boarding school. Join us for a presentation of the Alumni Achievement Award to Heather Vuillet Lende ’81 in recognition of her accomplishments as an award-winning writer. Her most recent book is Of Bears and Ballots, and her novel If You Lived Here, I’d Know Your Name made it to the New York Times bestseller list. Annie Hartmann Philbrick ‘80 will moderate the Q&A.
