Come prepared to move. Wear clothing that allows for freedom of movement. No prepared choreography necessary. Open to Middlebury students only.

Jillian Meyers is an Emmy Nominated LA based Choreographer who has been an assistant to Brian Friedman, Tovaris Wilson, Mia Michaels, Wade Robson, Gil Duldulao and Mandy Moore. She worked with Moore on the award winning film La La Land and both herself and Moore earned Emmy nominations for their work on the hit series Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist. Myers has been fortunate to work with leading musical acts such as The Lumineers, Vance Joy, Hozier, Janet Jackson, and more. Ultimately, Jillian loves to dance and is excited by any experience related to her passion.

This workshop is open to anyone interested in learning about dancing and choreographing for the camera. Live music from the Dominican Republic! Bachata, merengue, and other Caribbean styles. Come learn, listen, and dance during an engaging workshop led by Dominican music students and performers.

Bachata Academy offers performances and workshops of Bachata, a music and dance tradition of the Dominican Republic. Bachata is an engaging vehicle for all ages and backgrounds to explore Latin America’s musical heritage.

Students will explore the integration of movement and cinematography and build a work with Jillian throughout the week. The residency will culminate with a presentation on Friday, November 2nd at 5pm. Students are welcome to check out the first class and then commit to the rest of the workshop and final showing.

“Subtle Rage” is a multidisciplinary performance piece that merges dance, voice and original music to tell stories of rage, sensuality and forgiveness. This work asks: In what ways—subtle and obvious—does rage take shape in your body and life? How can we move with rage in a way that transforms its destructive impact into weapons of mass creation? 

This trans-friendly movement workshop is suitable for terrified beginners through all-levels and are led by Sean Dorsey and Sean Dorsey Dance company dancers. These classes and workshops are designed to be supportive of transgender, trans, non-binary, and gender-nonconforming bodies and creative expression. All-gender bathrooms are available.

This community class is free and open to anyone.
