“Beyond Wall Street: A Field Guide for Economics Majors” brings back Economics alumni, representing a diverse array of careers, who share their paths and professional lives with students and demonstrate what possibilities exist for current Economics majors. Economics prepares students to succeed in a vast array of interesting and rewarding industries, and the Field Guide can help students think broadly about where their study in might take them.

Andrew Flowers, former Quantitative Editor and Economics Writer for FiveThirtyEight.com, will profile six types of data journalism stories. Several stories will serve as examples, such as p-hacking in nutrition studies, police officer shootings, Uber’s effect on taxis, and what local characteristics explain Donald Trump’s electoral victory.
