Now this once-maligned medium of expression is poised for new opportunities, thanks to a mutating media environment and a potential revolution in visual education. Author and comics artist Scott McCloud shines a light on these and other fascinating trends in a fast-moving visual presentation.

Cameron Visiting Architect: Erinn McGurn

Erinn McGurn, AIA is the Co-Founder of SCALEAfrica and Owner/Principal of SCALEStudio in New York City. The studio operates on a “for-benefit” model with social change and community-driven design as the primary focus. In 2013, SCALEAfrica was admitted into the Clinton Global Initiative and launched a commitment to action to build Zambia’s first sustainably-designed, technology-based community school. Griffin, president of Interactive Design Architects (IDEA), gives a public talk about her practice and her efforts to get more minority women interested in architecture. Her 20 years of experience includes institutional, municipal, corporate, multiunit residential, and education projects. Out of IDEA’s impressive body of work, none is more recognizable than the Modern Wing at the Art Institute of Chicago, an icon in Chicago’s architectural landscape. Cameron Visiting Architect Dina Griffin

As president of Interactive Design Architects (IDEA) Dina Griffin has over 20 years of experience in the profession. Her experience includes institutional, municipal, corporate, multi-unit residential and education projects. Dina and her firm have worked on a wide range of projects including The Eckhardt Center at the University of Chicago, Powell Elementary School, multiple projects for the Public Building Commission of Chicago and, one of her favorites, St. Leo Apartments, a 14-unit apartment building for disabled veterans.

Susannah Drake is the principal architect of dlandstudio in Brooklyn, a firm that works on the intersection of architecture, landscape design, and sustainability.
