MIIS - Student Advocacy Council

Dear IPD, ITED, and MPA Students,

We’re excited to invite you to our Student Townhall — a relaxed, open space for you to share your experiences, resources, and connect with peers across programs. Whether you’ve got suggestions for course improvements, career support ideas, or simply want to enjoy some good food, this is for you!

Come celebrate an evening of dancing, beauty, and merriment with us at the MIIS Garden Gala. Your attendance, along with formal attire, is highly requested!

The Student Advocacy Council (SAC) will hold monthly meetings to share updates and ideas on how we can advocate for fellow students and discuss any feedback we receive. A Zoom link is also provided so people can join remotely if needed.

Come join us to discuss the greater Middlebury world, ask questions, chat with peers and share information across levels of institutional governance! Students are welcome to join either in-person or virtually via Zoom. We look forward to seeing you there!

Now that the finals are over, let’s sit back, relax, and play some board games at the library together.

Middlebirdy is going indoors for our last event of the semester. Put finals on pause for a couple hours and come stretch your wings with a game break! We’ll be playing the beautiful board game Wingspan, in which you cultivate a network of wildlife preserves to discover and attract the best birds - and maybe a couple rounds of Bird Bingo! Come play, relax, and nerd out about birds with us.

The January 2023 mass shooting of farm workers in Half Moon Bay near San Francisco brought to light intolerable conditions field laborers often still endure. United Farm Workers President Teresa Romero will discuss the hardships and exploitation agricultural workers face and how they are the result of fundamental injustice and indignity built into the system of farm labor in this state and nation dating back more than a century and a half.
