In this session, participants will learn proven techniques for managing time more effectively. They will analyze how their time is currently spent, review time-wasters and set new priorities based on their values and goals. Participants will also learn how to combat procrastination and develop a personal action plan that takes into account the balance and achievement of academic, career and personal goals.

Come learn valuable tools for facilitating social change. Theater of the Oppressed is an arsenal of theater techniques and games that seeks to humanize people, and create space for participants to rehearse taking action. It begins with the idea that everyone has the capacity to act in the “theater” of our lives; everybody is at once an actor and a spectator. We are all spect-actors! The intensive workshop will take place on Saturday and then on Sunday we will lead a facilitation addressing a local issue here at MIIS.

Four guest speakers will bring to light realities of the true costs of war experienced by today’s veteran and military community.

The MIIS Annual Trade Conference has consistently been one of the largest and most prestigeous events on campus. With the formation of the new International Trade and Economic Diplomacy (ITED) program and the vibrant Trade Club on campus this year, this year will be no exception. With today’s global challanges in mind, this years conference is focused on global trade and the environment. The relationship between these two fields is often underplayed or even illustrated as being in confict.

We will be showing The Abolitionists, a documentary that features Tim Ballard and Matt Osborne from Operation Underground Railroad. These MIIS alumni lead missions around the world to rescue child sex trafficking victims. Come and check out this great movie and hear from the men themselves!
