The Troubles: Northern Ireland, 1968-1998 by Michael Brillman

Sponsored by:

Professor Michael Brillman will discuss the modernization of the Irish Republican Army and the subsequent Unionist paramilitary responses. A third portion will focus on responses to terror by the British state, namely the internment of IRA prisoners. The talk will end with the 1998 Good Friday Agreements and open the floor up for questions and a discussion of whether or not the Irish peace can last.

The Ramsar Convention

The Ramsar Convention is an intergovernmental treaty adopted in 1971 to provide a framework for wetland conservation and wise use. In this interactive, hybrid session, four panelists with extensive experience with Ramsar will discuss how the treaty is enacted on the ground and challenges and opportunities for future global practitioners. The Clothesline Project

The clothesline displays will be up from 9am-4pm at the Holland Center Patio and the Samson Center Patio. Please stop by and show your support for survivors of sexual assault.
