Exploring the Physics of Supernovae

Sponsored by:
Physics
Karen Tabetha Hole, Professor of Physics, Norwich University Supernovae are cataclysmic explosions of stars, which have dramatically shaped both the evolution of the universe and our understanding of it. Yet there are still many things we don’t know about them, including the precise trigger of the explosion and the structure and composition of the remnants they leave behind. In this talk, I will explore our current understanding of these extreme astrophysical events, and the tools we are using to further probe their physics.
