To build toward collective liberation, we must work together. Often this involves conflict, between us and our oppressors; between us and our comrades, friends, and allies; and internally as we unpack and heal our internalized biases.
Aikido is a unique martial art that endeavors, as much as possible, to preserve the safety and dignity of self and other during conflict. This workshop introduces Aikido techniques and thoughts on bringing centered presence off the mat into our everyday lives. No prior experience is necessary. Participants should wear comfortable clothing that includes long pants such as sweats. Come join us while we attempt to embody our values and view somatic arts through a queer, feminist lens.
