The Rohatyn Center for Global Affairs program on Global Economics presents Peter Andre and “A Behavioral Economics Perspective on Climate Action: Turning Concern into Change.”
In this talk, Prof. Andre explores why global efforts to address climate change often fall short despite widespread recognition of their importance. Drawing on global data, he argues that the issue is not a lack of concern but rather our failure to act on good intentions. Several behavioral impediments contribute to this gap. Prof. Andre will focus on our pessimism about others’ willingness to change and the dampening effects of markets. Understanding these barriers helps us to devise more effective strategies for meaningful climate action.
Peter Andre is an Assistant Professor at SAFE and Goethe University Frankfurt, with publications in top journals like the Quarterly Journal of Economics and The Review of Economic Studies.
