go/decolonizingsub/ to sign up for a J-term workshop with Len Pierre, who is Coast Salish from Katzie (kate-zee) First Nation and a professor, social activist, and traditional knowledge sharer. Len’s workshop will explore the link between colonialism and Indigenous health and social inequities with a focus on the toxic drug crisis and its impact on Indigenous communities today. Participants will discuss strategies to address stigmas associated with substance use, examine Indigenous perspectives on harm reduction, and learn culturally safer language and the origins of prohibition.
