Directors Cheryl Faraone, Richard Romagnoli and Jim Petosa invite the Middlebury community to attend free showings of PTP/NYC’s 35th season offerings. This acclaimed Off-Broadway theatre company, affiliated with Middlebury’s Theatre Department, features Middlebury students and alumni working alongside professional theatre makers. After two fast-paced weeks of rehearsal, they take pleasure in providing Middlebury audiences with special previews prior to the company’s move to New York for a month-long run at Atlantic Stage 2. No sets or lights, few costumes or props—just actors and texts. This showing includes:
REVERSE TRANSCRIPTION: HAUNTINGS FROM PANDEMICS PAST AND PRESENT, Directed by Jim Petosa
DOG PLAYS, by Robert Chesley
A VARIANT STRAIN, by Jonathan Adler and Jim Petosa
A pairing of two plays juxtaposes stories of gay men across two pandemics, placing a rarely-performed work from the AIDS era in the US alongside a new story for the COVID era.
Seating will begin 20 minutes prior to the performance.
