UpNext Tech: Product Management - Technology Intersects With Liberal Arts

Stefan Claypool ‘09 will provide an overview of the crucial role of a Product Manager based on his experiences in the role at PayPal. Of all major tech industry disciplines, product management is in many ways the best fit for liberal arts students, because it demands a truly multidisciplinary approach to problem solving. In this session, we will discuss what product management is both in theory and reality, assess its importance inside a technology organization, review the different skills that contribute to success in the role, and provide insight into how to navigate the notoriously ill-defined path to an entry-level PM job.
