The Center for Careers & internships will provide information on finding or creating an internship and the Center for Community Engagement will provide information on how to find an opportunity for volunteering.

Representatives from the UVM College of Medicine Admission’s office will explore the medical school admissions process. Come learn what medical schools look for in an applicant and how they build a medical school class. You’ll have the opportunity to ask the UVM Team about their holistic review process and their MMI style of interviewing.

Come to this session to learn from an admissions officer at UVA Law school about what the school is like. Also listen to a short talk from a Midd alum (the spouse of the UVA admissions officer) who is a Midd grad and UVA Law alum who works now at the Southern Environmental Law Center. Grace Cleveland and Will Cleveland ‘04 are their names.

U.S. Department of State Recruitment and Outreach Officer Jim Ellickson-Brown will be available for informational interviews and conduct an information session on internships, fellowships and careers during a visit to Middlebury College Wednesday, September 25. The mission of the U.S. Department of State is to shape and sustain a peaceful, prosperous, just, and democratic world and foster conditions for stability and progress for the benefit of the American people and people everywhere.

Come listen and learn from Kevin about his experience working in the Antitrust division of the US Department of Justice. This is an informal and casual event to better understand how he navigated the application process on USAjobs, what he actually does all day in his job as a paralegal, and how is life in DC. Kevin was a psychology major, involved with the Charter House and cares about global and public health issues. Bring your questions.

Join the folks from the US Army for this Hemorrhage Clinic. This is a clinical class and practical exercise on the controlling of major hemorrhaging or bleeding, as it relates to emergency medicine. Participants will be given a pork shoulder or pork butt as their ‘patient’.

Richard Coolidge ’87, Senior Producer, PBSNewsHour and Emmanuelle Saliba ’11.5, Senior Editor Social Newsgathering, NBC News will talk about news literacy in the new world of news and fake news, the role of social media in content gathering, the differences between short, medium, and long form news program production, and the challenges of television in a fragmented media environment.

Patch Culbertson ’08.5, Republic Records, will speak to the trends in the music business, the A&R role at a record label with regards to talent scouting and album development, the types of entry level roles that would be perfect for liberal arts majors, and the skill sets that help when first starting in the industry.
