Join us for Buddhist Dharma teacher Lama Rod Owens’ public lecture. So many of us are grieving and in deep mourning for the suffering that we perceive in the world as well in our own situations. We do not live in a society that is comfortable with our open grieving. Community based grieving is healing and transformative. When we combine community grieving with our deep aspirations to love, then we are able to better transform our grief into wisdom and joy. This is a radical vision of bringing our full selves into the complexity of living.

Attend this student workshop with author, activist, and Lama (Buddhist Teacher) Rod Owens is an author, activist, and Lama (Buddhist Teacher). Stevie Wonder once sang, “Love’s in need of love today.” His words couldn’t be more true as we face a global community struggling with war, poverty, illness, climate instability, and the rise of political authorities and governments who do not seem to be grounded in compassion or kindness.

Since 1992, Bill Moyers and FRONTLINE have been following the story of two ordinary, hard-working families in Milwaukee - one black, one white - as they spent two decades in an extraordinary battle to keep from sliding into poverty.

Come learn about what our students, faculty, staff, and the College, overall, are doing in the community—here locally and around the world! We’ll share updates about our new Privilege & Poverty Academic Cluster, student-led organizations, service on agency boards, research projects that provide a public benefit, partnerships with local schools, and examples of immersive experiences around the globe. For any former DKE members or other alumni who frequented the former DKE House, come on by and see what we’ve done with the place! We love our new space and are happy to share.

Stop by our info session to learn about how you can be involved with Community Friends. Community Friends is a one-on-one mentoring programs that matches Middlebury College students with children ages 6-12 in Addison County, and mentors meet with their matches for at least two hours per week. See you there!

Help patients battling blood cancers by joining the Bone Marrow Donor Registry. Joining only takes 5 minutes and includes a cheek swab and minor paperwork. Tables will be set up in the entrance of the library and in the great hall in BiHall. Bone marrow transplants provide life saving treatment for patients with blood cancer. One in 430 donors are matched with patients. Donating bone marrow is as simple as getting your blood drawn. Come grab a cookie from Otter Creek Bakery and potentially save a life!
