Nancy Gibbs is the most recent Editor in Chief of TIME Magazine. She was the first woman to hold the position, and has written more cover stories for TIME than any other writer. In the last year at TIME, Ms. Gibbs started a project called the FIRSTS project, which features women who have changed the world by being the first females to receive notoriety in their field. She interviewed women such as Hillary Clinton, Madeleine Albright, Nobel laureate Elizabeth Blackburn, Sheryl Sandberg, and Aretha Franklin – among others.

With You! A Queer Sports Rom Com is a one person show starring Una Aya Osato. This comedy touches on everything from college sports, to activism, to queer identity. It is free and open to all.

After the fireworks, head over to Crossroads for the UMOJA kickoff party to dance the night away, featuring a bar for students 21+ with two forms of ID.

Get outside and enjoy the winter wonderland in the “Ice Cream Sea” with a snow day sponsored by the AFC. Chili will be served in the AFC and the Chateau from 12:00-2:00 PM. Snow games led by the MMC will start at 1:00 PM on Battell Beach. Other activities include snow murals, horse drawn sleigh rides, and sledding!

Come down to the “Lollipop” Ridgeline Woods to enjoy the first annual Ridgeline Block Party. Open times are below: Brooker and Tavern: 10-11:30 Chromatic and Palmer: 11:30-1

The Ice Show features skaters of all ages and abilities, including lots of local kids, in a fun event filled with music and costumes.  Cheer on the beginners and be dazzled by competitive skaters, including local guest stars and a pair who competed internationally for Team USA.  Sunday’s show will include the Catamount Blades, UVM’s competitive synchronized skating team.

Get ready for a night of sweet surprises at the annual Winter Carnival Improv Comedy show featuring Otter Nonesense and Middlebrow. The show will start at 8:30 in Wilson Hall, so grab the best seat in the house for a candy-tastic show!

We finally made it to the “Candy Castle”. Celebrate a sweet night over at Nelson Arena from 10:00 PM - 1:30 AM featuring music by DJ duo New America. Tickets are $10 upfront and $15 at the door. All 21+ students should bring two forms of ID and $5 for the bar.
