Middlebury Debate Society- Winslett and McKibben Debate: Coalition Building and the Future of The Environmental Movement

Many hope to broaden the climate movement but struggle with how to achieve it.  Currently, discourse around climate policy is primarily amplified by the democratic/progressive movement. Regardless, all political parties will be harmed by climate change. Today, we are concerned with how best to mitigate and stop climate change through the lens of broadening the climate movement.

Welcome to Midd Debate! Love to argue about politics, current events, philosophy or just about anything else? Would you like to learn to speak persuasively in public and to sharpen your critical thinking skills? Want to meet students from other colleges and travel to tournaments around the country and the world? Then you are a perfect fit for debate! To find out more about our club and to get a feel for what debate is all about come to BiHall 219 @ 3 p.m. on September 19th. You’ll be welcome to join us for a team dinner after the meeting. No prior debate experience is necessary.

Middlebury Debate Society Practice

All are welcome to attend our twice weekly practice in BiHall 430 @ 5 p.m. on Tuesdays & Thursdays. At our meetings we engage in practice rounds, discuss details for upcoming tournaments and have a generally fabulous time arguing with one another. Practice is followed by a team dinner in Ross. We hope to see you there!
