Graduating Student Information Meeting Any student planning on graduating in the winter should attend this meeting. Details and information surrounding the December commencement will be presented, and graduating student speaker nominees will be presenting summaries of their speeches. Giving Tuesday is a national philanthropic effort to promote the practice of giving. MIIS students will be on hand to receive donations in fulfillment of this year’s challenge: Bring in 50 donations, and receive $6500 from several of our generous donors towards MIIS student scholarships. Students will also be able to write short notes of thank you to our donor base.

Before a bullet is fired or a missile launched, words are exchanged. Words to avoid loss of life, or words to make such catastrophic outcomes less likely. This talk, related to his research in New Peace Linguistics, explores and analyzes the words of some of the world’s most powerful people, with the power to bring peace or to start wars.
