Hey y’all, We are excited to restart our activities!! Join us at Del Monte Beach for a cleanup! Feel free to bring your reusable buckets, gloves, and water bottles. We will provide gloves and buckets in case you don’t have them. Frisbee and volleyballs will be available for those who want to hang out at the beach afterward. We look forward to having a fun time with y’all!

Harvest Festival/Halloween Costume Contest

Celebrate the Autumn Harvest Festival and Halloween Costume Contest with Slavic Culture Club, featuring traditional food & beverages (pierogi, kielbasa, pickles, sauerkraut, sweets, etc), a brief presentation about Slavic culture, Trivia, stickers, and a costume contest! Feel free to bring a dish to share, wear a costume, Slavic or non-Slavic related, for a chance to win prizes!

BIPOC Voices Presents Inés Hernández-Ávila Irvine Auditorium

Dr. Hernández-Ávila, Niimiipuu (Nez Perce)/Tejana, Professor Emerita, from the Department of Native American Studies at UC Davis is one of the six founders of the Native American and Indigenous Studies Association (NAISA). She’s an interdisciplinary literature and religious studies scholar, poet, visual artist and a member of Luk’upsíimey/The North Star Collective. Dr. Hernández-Ávila is a veteran social justice activist from the 1970s, addressing both Chicanx and American Indian issues.

Join the International Cultural Gatherings Club for a Poetry Slam in Holland! The third event of MIIS’ Poetry Week, this event is open to all students, staff, and faculty who are interested in reading and/or listening to poetry with live music by a local musician.

Beginner Surf Session

Sponsored by:
MIIS Organization
The club will be renting out 10 surfboards and wetsuits for students who are interested in trying out surfing. Two MIIS students will be assisting in teaching the basics of surfing. Safety is our number one concern so one of the student surf guides who will be attending has several years of surfing experience and is currently being trained as a State Beach Lifeguard. We also welcome students who surf at all levels!
Some snacks and hot drinks will be provided after surfing :) Location to be determined based on conditions.
