Join us for a discussion on the book Women Peace and Security (WPS) in US Security Cooperation. This book focuses on one of the WPS agendas (from UNSCR 1325 to the US WPS Act of 2017), and how it both has been applied in US security cooperation engagements and can be used further to enhance the success of security cooperation efforts. We will be pleased to hear from Dr. Susan Yoshihara followed by light refreshments and drinks. Dr. Susan Yoshihara, the book editor, is founder and president of the American Council on Women Peace and Security.

In partnership with The Creperie Cafe, the MIIS Board Game Club is excited to host Board Game Community Night, a vibrant gathering to unite MIIS students with the wider Monterey community. Known for its mouthwatering crepes, paninis, and other delicious offerings, The Creperie Cafe has been a beloved local spot for years. Recently, the cafe has started hosting board game nights on select evenings, creating a welcoming space for fun and connection.

This seminar will feature a series of guest discussions focused on China’s participation in global governance and the United Nations system. The event will invite current and former UN interns, as well as possibly UN staff members, to share their professional journeys and reflections. Topics will include how to pursue internship and career opportunities within the UN, experiences working across different duty stations, and perspectives on China’s evolving role in international cooperation.

An evening to refresh your spirit. We’ll gather to talk about how we’re doing soulwise, watch a Christian musical, and share how faith shapes our daily life at school.

Join us for a screening of an episode Guerrera (1h) - a limited series about the trailblazing women of America’s Special Operations Forces during the War on Terror. Please join Art Club and the JEDI Office for a how-to block/linoleum print workshop! We’ll be teaching each step of the printing process and informally discuss how Art can be used as a medium for communication and engagement, capable of amplifying and advocating for justice.
