INMM / GSAT Egg Hunt

The Geospatial Skills and Analytical Tools (GSAT) Club and the Institute of Nuclear Materials Management (I.N.M.M.) MIIS Chapter will be hosting a join event on April 28, between 2-4 pm, at the MIIS PacLab (CF442). The event will consist of a competition involving the identification of locations using satellite imagery, ground-based photography, and open-source tools and methods.

INMM - First Meeting

This will be the first meeting on the Institute for Nuclear Materials Management Club at MIIS. We will be electing executive officers and reviewing information for a tour of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, specifically the ignition facility where nuclear fusion takes place. The tour will be in Livermore, California and will occur on Tuesday, March 29 at 8:30AM. We are looking into the possibility of a shuttle. There will be pizza at the general meeting, hope to see everyone.

Immigration Presentation for International Students and Scholars

Arthur Serratelli, an immigration attorney based in Virginia, will be at MIIS to present information on the following: -Special employment visas for citizens of Chile, Australia, Singapore, Canada, and Mexico. -Government agencies can get you a special visa if you are working for them. -H-1B employment visas and the H-1B “cap”. -Employer visa sponsorship: Why would an employer want to hire me when they need to sponsor my visa, when they could just hire a U.S. citizen? How do I answer questions about my visa status on a work application or in an interview?

This meeting on Tuesday, Feb 21 is specifically for IEP students to voice your opinions on the current state of the school, your academic experience, student life & facilities, and beyond.
