Women in International Studies (WIIS) is partnering with Toastmasters to host a storytelling session.

WIIS is proud to host a leadership workshop with MIIS Alumni and WIIS West leader Lisa Berkely!

Students will be given the opportunity to speak in front of the group and tell their stories.

Club leadership will be meeting.

This will be our first meeting of the year, so topics will include Club purpose, norms, and goals! Melissa Hanham of the James Martin Center for Non Proliferation will be our speaker. It will be a fun night full of great information. Open to all interested MIIS students!

Join us in a conversation with Virginia State Delegate Danica Roem! Follow her transformative campaign that caught national attention. Danica became the first out transgender woman elected to a state legislature. She is blazing a new and unique trail for her constituents and the LGBTQ community! Presentation followed by Q&A.

Geospatial Skills Introduction and Competition. The event will consist of a competition involving the identification of locations using satellite imagery, ground-based photography, and open-source tools and methods. Prior to the competition a short explanation of skills and tools will be provided. Hosted by Geospacial Skills and Analytical Tools (GSAT) club, Institute of Nuclear Materials Management (INMM) and CTBTO Youth Group - Monterey (CYG). Have you ever wondered what wetlands are, or why they come up so much when talking about natural strategies to reduce storm surge? Join us for the first installment of the Society of Wetland Scientists’ fall lecture series to learn the answers to all of your burning questions. This will be an introduction to basic wetland science for the non-scientist. Attendees will learn about key concepts such as wetland ecosystem services, nutrient cycling, and the ever-pertinent question - what exactly is a wetland?
