There’s a reason that people are drawn to vacation by the beach or in the woods… Spending time outdoors is a powerful way to reconnect with yourself while reconnecting with the world around you. There’s so much aliveness and beauty in the natural world that we almost can’t help but be present and mindful! In this workshop, discover the research that demonstrates how the natural world soothes, heals, and refreshes us; take time to experience the “nearby nature” right outside your door; and learn simple practices that you can take with you to cultivate mindfulness in nature.

Harm happens in every community. How harm is understood varies according to our critical awareness of the ways identity, power, and privilege impact how we interact with each other. This workshop will explore the importance of being able to recognize, name, and address harm when it happens and will provide an opportunity for participants to discuss the way differences in power and privilege impact how we approach and experience conversations about harm and ways we can be intentional about not reinforcing dynamics that hinder conversation or cause harm.
