The Friends are taking an overnight trip to The Hudson River Valley!

Fragmented stories from individuals crossing through southern Mexico assemble a vivid portrait of the thousands of immigrants who have disappeared along the trail running from southern Mexico to the US border. “Border South” reveals the immigrants’ resilience, ingenuity, and humor as it exposes a global migration system that renders human beings invisible in life as well as death. Friends of the Art Museum and invited guests gather to celebrate the year in review, welcome incoming officers and trustees, and present awards for distinction in the visual arts. This year, Rick Lapham III ’70 will be our guest speaker. Rick currently chairs the Middlebury Museum and Visual Arts Council and is President of Lapham and Dibble Gallery in Manhattan. In this gallery talk, visiting artist Alison J Carr will discuss her recent work, inspired by mid-century pinup artist Zoë Mozert.

This installation, which changes regularly, features highlights of the Museum’s collection of Western art from the Renaissance to the end of the nineteenth century.
