Richard Saunders, director of the Middlebury College Museum of Art, will lead an informal tour of the exhibit 50 /Fifty: Fifty Years of Collecting Art for Middlebury. Through background narratives he will explain how a number of different objects in the exhibit have become part of the museum’s permanent collection.

Using objects from the college art museum, the Mahaney Arts Center, and the library’s Special Collections, this exhibition explores the intricate web of relationships between literature, text, and words on the one hand, and sculpture, painting, prints, drawing, and video on the other. The exhibition is part of the Bread Loaf School of English Centennial celebrations. Free
