Nightingales: Stories of Love through Nature and Song

Lisa Wooldridge ‘16 presents an evening of vocal music in partial fulfillment of Department of Music senior work. The program features arias, art songs, and lieder from the baroque period up through the modern period, and includes works by Bach, Mozart, Brahms, Debussy, Moore, and more. The performance is accompanied by Cynthia Huard and also features Annie Beliveau (‘18), Nimrod Sadeh (‘17.5), Mikaela Chang (‘19), Dan Frostman, and Betsy Killorin. Composer Emily Howard

Emily Howard is one of the finest young composers at work in Britain today. A graduate of Oxford, she won critical acclaim for her first piece, Magnetite, which debuted at the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic in 2008. Most recently, she won vast accolades for a concerto that was featured at the BBC Proms in 2016. It was described the TIMES as “visionary” and “one of this year’s finest new works” by The Guardian. Her opera called Zatopek! appeared in London to huge acclaim in 2012.
