The traditional music, dance, and flavors of Brittany—the ‘Celtic’ region of northwestern France—will again be highlighted at the College’s second ‘Fest-Noz’ (Breton night festival). Join Timothy Cummings (pipes), Jeremiah McLane (accordion), and Alex Kehler (violin and nyckelharpa) in celebrating authentic music, participatory dances, and crêpes and cider!

Middlebury College Junior Ashley Wang ’21 performs solo works by Couperin, Debussy, and Schubert in her student cello recital. Joined by fellow cellists and soprano Eleanor Mayerfield ’19.5, the afternoon will end with a chamber piece by Villa-Lobos. Free

Harpsichordist Gwen Toth ’77 and singer-actor Sarah Chalfy present the story of 17th-century painter and feminist heroine Artemisia Gentileschi in a production of music, theater, and image, including songs by Baroque composer Barbara Strozzi. Genstileschi survived rape, humiliation, and a sensational trial to achieve international renown as an artist. Free

Enjoy Valentine’s Day with a performance by affiliate artist Anne Janson, flute, with Stefanie Taylor, viola, and Rebecca Kauffman, harp. This delightful program features the Debussy Trio and Vermont composer David Feurzeig’s work inspired by Debussy. Free
