Presentation by Tai Chi Master Chen Zhonghua

World-renowned Tai Chi Master Chen Zhonghua gives free presentation at Irvine Auditorium on Jan 26, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm sponsored by teh Monterey Bay Chinese Association. Master Chen studied with two 18th generation Chen Style Tai Chi grandmasters. He is now the International Standard Bearer of Chen Style Tai Chi - Practical Method, and teaches thosands of students across the world. In this presentation, he will focus on the Chen Style Tai Chi’s cultural roots, its development and characteristics with live demonstrations.

Stronger Than Bullets

Sunday, March 4 @ 6:30pm. Special screening of Stronger Than Bullets on Music Freedom weekend at the Irvine Auditorium. The film is a high-octane rock & roll documentary that chronicles the music that sprang forth during the Libyan revolution - and became an integral part of the struggle for freedom against Colonel Muammar Gaddafi. It is story of bravery against tyranny and radicalism, by musicians who defied the Gaddafi’s decades-old ban on Western music. Q&A to follow, hosted by Director Matthew Millan of Carmel.

Devoe Fund of the Community Foundation for Monterey County on Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Irvine Auditorium, McCone Building, Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, 499 Pierce Street, Monterey. Monterey, described as California’s most historic city, has been preserved through the impassioned efforts of its surrounding community.
