Pre-Health Society

The Pre-health Society will be hosting an informative and helpful session regarding class registration for the upcoming Fall Semester. 

We’re excited to welcome Drs. Barbara Dill and Richard Smith speak about their paths in medicine and the different choices they’ve made along the way from medical school to residency and the rest of their professional careers. Dr. Dill is the Director of Labor & Delivery at Jacobi Medical Center, and Dr. Smith is the Chair of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY. This panel aims to show you that there’s no one right path to medicine, and there are many steps along the way to make the journey unique to yourself!

The Pre-Health Society will provide guidance and answer any questions in regard to the upcoming spring registration.

Pre-Health Society Mid-Semester Check-in will provide information about our upcoming events, chat about our pre-health journey, and share candy. Feel free to swing by to chat with other pre-health students and talk about how the semester is going.

Join us for a STOP the BLEED Workshop with SFC Roderick Long! SFC Long will speak about healthcare career development opportunities through the US Military, followed a STOP the BLEED medical workshop! STOP the BLEED is a program dedicated to preparing individuals to stop severe bleeding in emergency situations. Everyone who completes this workshop will receive a STOP the BLEED certification recognized by the American College of Surgeons. Please register at go/phsstopthebleed

Interested in the pre-health sciences? Want more resources and guidance on volunteering, research opportunities, or any other extracurriculars? Stop by the Pre-Health Society’s Mindfulness and Mentorship hours to ask for tips from other Midd pre-health students on how to make the most of your time here! This week we’ll be focusing particularly on volunteering around the community, but feel free to bring questions of any sort!

If you’re feeling lost on registration, this session is for you! We’ll have a panel of pre-health upperclassmen to help with registering for next semester’s courses. Come by to get more clarity, validation, and/or advice on classes, professors, and schedules!
