McCullough Community Mural Opening Reception

Join us for the unveiling of the mural and a “gallery talk” with artists Marthalicia Matarrita, Will Kasso Condry, Isaias Crow, Daniel “Pose 2” Hopkins aka Maxx Moses, and student participants. Refreshments will be served. Live music by DJ Ahmad Shakir.

Feb Leader Info Session

Are you a Sophomore Feb? Are you interested in a becoming a Feb Leader for this years orientation? If you answered yes to both of these questions, come by Pearsons Lounge on October 11th from 8-9pm for an informational session about being a Feb Leader. This years co-chairs Kate Porterfield and Devin McGrath-Conwell will lead the discussion, and tell you what being a Feb Leader’s all about. Coming to the event is not a commitment to apply, but we hope anyone who has any interest will apply. Hope to see you there!

The Healing Power of Art: Using Murals to Build Communities

As part of a weeklong residency (April 8-13), four professional mural artists and community organizers Will Kasso Condry, Isaias Crow, Daniel “Pose2” Hopkins, and Marthalicia Matarrita will facilitate hands-on painting workshops with a group of Middlebury College students in the production of a large-scale mural for the McCullough Student Center.

Join us for a panel discussion with the artists on how public art and community murals can be used to create dialogue, bridge communities, and support individual and community-based healing.

Mark your calendars for the Student Activities and Student Services Fair on September 20, 4:30-6:00 PM in front of McCullough Student Center. Come learn about over 170 orgs and initiatives on campus and help us kick off the semester!  This year the Center for Community Engagement’s MiddAction Fair will also be part of this event – over 40 local non-profit organizations and schools will share opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to get involved with volunteering, social justice, and service-learning activities. go/middlink to learn more about student organizations at Midd.
