Ari came to Vermont in 2015 after living in San Francisco for 18 years. While in the Bay Area, he produced work for clients both big and small at top design consultancies, ad agencies, tech firms, and nonprofits, most notably, Landor Associates, Foote Cone and Belding (FCB), IDEO, and Salesforce.
Joining Middlebury’s Communications and Marketing team in 2015, Ari played an essential role in the redesign of Middlebury’s website and digital landscape. As digital designer, Ari helped to build a flexible design system that adapts to the institution’s complex needs while maintaining coherence across all of Middlebury’s websites, from public facing schools and programs to internal offices.
In his current role as senior designer, Ari works closely with the marketing and editorial teams and with his colleagues in design, creating and executing marketing and communication efforts across Middlebury. His most recent projects include the redesign of the undergraduate admissions website and recruitment publications, and print and digital identities for the Bread Loaf School of English print collateral, and the Bread Loaf Writer’s Conference.
Ari earned a BFA in photography and painting from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a BFA in graphic design from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. His work has been recognized by Graphis, Books for a Better Life, and the University and College Designers Association (UCDA).
Along with his wife, son, and dog, Ari lives in Burlington where they love the snow, the water, riding bikes and snowboards, the change in seasons, and everything else Vermont has to offer.
