Rick Carlson

Rick Carlson provides the Middlebury College community with decades of experience in directing Print and Mailing operations in higher education including Connecticut College and The University of Vermont. A past recipient of the U.S. Postal Service Industry Excellence Award for progressive mailing practices in higher education, Rick’s approach focuses on innovative work processes where materials work in conjunction with equipment, technology, and human factors to enhance outcomes. Efficiency, quality, and cost effectiveness are a core value of Printing and Mailing Services. Rick and his experienced team will assist you in achieving the desired outcome in a financially friendly way.

Rick works closely with the Project Management and Design Team in Communications and Marketing on many high-profile print projects. This relationship and many others on campus ensure that Printing and Mailing Services support the College’s mission by producing and distributing printed words and images while guarding the institution’s graphic identity and branding. These printed materials support various communication and marketing activities across the entire structure of Middlebury College and are key to the long-term cycle of student recruitment, student engagement, success, administrative support, and the College’s philanthropic efforts.

In his spare time, Rick can be found with his lovable energetic golden retriever. While Rick enjoys downhill skiing and golf the most, he is an overall sports enthusiast and loves all that athletic competition offers.
