Stephen Diehl

Stephen leads our public affairs team, working closely with the vice president of communications and marketing, director of media relations, and senior social media strategist to support Middlebury’s priorities. He co-leads Midd Stories—Middlebury’s hub for news, features, essays, and multimedia—and directs the College’s crisis communications team.

Prior to his position at Middlebury, he was director of communications at Green Mountain College in Poultney, Vermont, and previously served as director of communications at the Orvis Company in Manchester, Vermont. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University with a double major in English and communications, and a master’s degree in advertising and public relations from Marquette University.
