As the 2025 Projects for Peace Alumni Award selection process is underway, we continue to celebrate our 2024 Alumni Award winner, Bienfait Hahozi Mugenza. This recent video published by Bridge2Rwanda beautifully showcases Bienfait’s vision and work towards a more peaceful DRC.

Bienfait was a Bridge2Rwanda fellow and political science major in University of Rochester’s Class of 2021. His 2018 project, “Peace through Entrepreneurship in the Democratic Republic of Congo,” sought to empower youth to drive positive change through leadership, entrepreneurship, and peacebuilding education in Eastern Congo. After graduating, Mugenza returned to the DRC and founded the Congo Peace Academy, where he now works as managing director.
