Dates & Deadlines
The FFI is open for applications two times a year: once in the fall term and once in the spring term.
*The application deadline for Fall 2016 is October 6, 2016*
How to Apply
There is a two-round process for applying for funding from the Fund for Innovation:
- Step 1: Apply online through the online application;
- Step 2: Your application is reviewed by the Fund Advisory Board;
- Step 3: Applicants notified of funding decisions;
- Step 4: Second round applicants are chosen to pitch their idea to the FAB;
- Step 5: Final awardees are selected and notified.
Proposals Under $2,000
The FFI has an expedited process for proposals with a maximum budget request of $2,000. This process supports innovative ideas for projects that can be developed quickly and with limited resources.
Besides the budget limit, the application guidelines for this expedited process are the same as those for the general FFI.
A subset of the FAB will review applications once every month and make funding decisions at that time. Applicants can expect to hear a decision within four weeks.
For information on what materials are required for a complete proposal, visit the Guidelines pages.

The Presidential Fellows in Innovation are also available to meet and discuss your application. You may attend one of their application workshops or contact them to set up an individual appointment.
