Dates & Deadlines

The FFI is open for applications two times a year: once in the fall term and once in the spring term.

*The application deadline for Spring 2018 is March 1, 2018*

How to Apply

There is a two-round process for applying for funding from the Fund for Innovation:

  • Step 1: Apply online through the online application by March 1;
  • Step 2: Your application is reviewed by the Fund Advisory Board;
  • Step 3: Finalists invited to pitch session by March 21;
  • Step 4: Finalists pitch their idea to the FAB;
  • Step 5: Final awardees are selected and notified by April 18.

Fast-Track Proposals: Proposals Under $2,000

The FFI has an expedited process for proposals with a maximum budget request of $2,000. This process supports innovative ideas for projects that can be developed quickly and with limited resources.

Besides the budget limit, the application guidelines for this expedited process are the same as those for the general FFI.  Applications are accepted on a rolling basis each academic year between October and April.

A subset of the FAB will review applications once every month and make funding decisions at that time. Applicants can expect to hear a decision within four weeks. Applications submitted during academic breaks in the school year and during the summer will take longer to review.
