CCI and the Geography Department are proud to announce the upcoming Geography Field Guide event, offering students a unique opportunity to hear from alumni who studied geography. Scheduled for Thursday, March 28, and Friday, March 29, 2024, this event is open to all students, regardless of their major or minor. Whether you’re considering a future in geography, curious about the career paths available, or simply seeking inspiration from accomplished alumni, the Geography Field Guide promises valuable insights and networking opportunities.

Kicking off on Thursday, March 28, 2024, the event will feature a Career Panel from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. in the Franklin Environmental Center at Hillcrest, room 103. Middlebury alumni will share their post-graduation journeys and provide a look into the diverse and exciting world of geography-related professions.

On Friday, March 29, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., students will have the chance to engage in personal one-on-one discussions with the participating alumni. Held in Kitchel House at the Center for Careers and Internships (CCI), these 20-minute sessions offer a unique opportunity to learn firsthand about the experiences, challenges, and successes of professionals in the field.

Our alumni guests will be:

  • Ashali Bhandari ‘14: Managing Director, People’s Urban Living Lab at Transitions Research
  • Emma Brown ‘21: Graphics Reporter and Cartographer at the Wall Street Journal
  • Steven Chester ‘07: Senior Manager, Land Use and Community Planning at Vail Resorts
