My name is Adam-Jon Aparicio and I identify as a gay latino man and a first generation college graduate. I am a relational-based therapist who believes therapy should be a place where you feel seen and understood. I work best with clients who are motivated to change but need help working through self-doubt, identity formation, and purpose. I use humor, pop culture, and relationships to help guide you through conflict in new and healthy ways.

Before becoming a therapist, I received my first master’s degree from the University of Vermont in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration. I spent over a decade working and teaching at universities where I supported students’ career exploration, leadership formation, and identity development. Over the years, I’ve worked in LGBTQ+ community mental health, participated in and facilitated training on supporting diverse populations, and coordinated multicultural counseling programs at the university level. However, the relationships I’ve developed over the years have been my greatest tool in helping clients; I value my time with clients and view our work as healing, fun, and empowering.

As a therapist, I am deeply committed to helping clients navigate their lives, especially BIPOC, queer, and first generation college students. I help clients explore their familial relationships, stress management, and wellness goals. I really enjoy working with clients who have never done therapy before by helping them navigate the wonderful, yet sometimes awkward, experience of being in therapy. My goal is to meet clients where they are by placing importance on building a strong therapeutic relationship. In my free time I enjoy playing in several adult sports leagues (volleyball & kickball), loving on my 18 year old cat, and learning about financial literacy (my January Capricorn is strong).
