My name is Kristen and my pronouns are she/her/hers. I am originally from Rhode Island. I went to a small public high school before attending the University of California at Santa Barbara where I majored in psychology. I identify as a straight cis-gendered female and have two wonderful daughters that are currently in college.

My previous careers include teaching elementary school (5th and 6th grade) before I had my children. As my kids were growing up, I had my own business working as a personal trainer where I supported individuals to improving their health and wellness. I enjoy this work, but realized that I wanted to explore the mind body connection as some of my clients had struggles with past trauma experiences that was impacting their ability to make the changes they wanted in their lives. I decided to return to college to become a counselor. I am in my third and final year of my MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Antioch University.

In my spare time I enjoy working on local theatrical productions both on and off the stage. I enjoy singing, cooking, and making things. I find mindfulness practices like yoga, meditation, kayaking, strength training, and walking in nature bring balance and pleasure into my life.
