During my last stay at Breadloaf (at one of the houses, not the inn), I was shocked to see the condition of windows--not only were they in need of basic sanding, priming, and painting, but they were so mishapen (due to the wood being exposed and thus warping) that they would not close tightly. The solution? Crank up the heat to a level so high a Turkish bath owner would be jealous! I hope that that the rest of Breadloaf will be renovated before it falls into total disrepair. Anybody who has done building/home repairs knows that the longer you wait, the more expensive the repair.
