It is encouraging to learn that Midd is embracing issues of privilege and poverty. As one who abandonedthe "prescribed" career course in law for social work, I have been privileged and humbled to work in, with and for communities where economic, educational, racial and cultural biases had/have sustained our social inequalities. I credit Midd and my earlier Quaker education, as well as my painfully personal experiences, for this gifted journey. Amidst and between the upheavals of our times, and those preceding, resides the commitment of those who follow the paths less taken.
