Wow - to come back and overcome the team that eliminated Middlebury last year and then beat the team that won in two prior contests this year is an over-the-top story of commitment, hard work, and determined inspiration. As a sports fan that can remember the pre-Title IX days when women had less athletic opportunities than their male counterparts, there is something very special about a group of young women who chose to make the absolute most of their opportunity to gel together as a team and achieve this level of success. I was struck by the video and Coach DeLorenzo describing five seasons in one - combined with the articulate and transparent feelings expressed by the team captains, it seems that the experience of getting there has at least as much meaning to this team as the trophy. This is what college athletics should be - hard, powerful lessons that will last for a lifetime.
