This is thoughtful. English will be useful for these students, but it’s important to realize that the school is located in a remote minority area where very few students will attend an upper secondary school that would prepare them for any major university, such as Chiang Mai University, let alone Middlebury College. Raising expectations without providing funding for transportation to and bordering for upper secondary would be a bit cruel. I have worked on education of minorities in this area for 38 years and would be happy to provide suggestions or practical advice.
