Peter Mackey ’74 Wins Industry Achievement Award

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Peter Mackey ’74, the longtime general manager of the Middlebury College Snow Bowl, was honored with an Industry Achievement Award at the Vermont Ski Areas Association’s 49th Annual Meeting, June 18, at Stowe Mountain Resort.

Mackey, a Middlebury native, began working at the Middlebury College Snow Bowl in 1978, becoming the general manager in 1995. He has been actively involved in racing, and during his tenure the Snow Bowl hosted countless races of all levels from Vermont Alpine Racing Association races to NCAA Championships. He and his staff have also provided the Middlebury College Ski Team with a nearby training and race venue.

According to a news release supplied by the Ski Vermont, “Peter is celebrated for his tireless work ethic and willingness to do any job on the mountain to provide a great experience for all visitors, whether they are community members, college students, junior racers or the top collegiate contenders in the country.”
