Fuel Assistance

We are pleased to announce that Middlebury College will again offer a fuel assistance program to eligible College employees.  Fuel assistance applications will be accepted from December 1, 2013, through March 31, 2014. Employees may apply for assistance of up to $475 to assist with documented heating fuel needs.

The Fuel Assistance Program, which is funded through the Chaplain’s Fund, is intended to assist employees who are experiencing a significant financial hardship and are unable to meet their heating needs through other means.  Assistance will be in the form of either a grant (paid directly to the fuel provider) or a loan. Please note: one application will be accepted per household per year. Completed applications (including the documentation from the fuel provider) should be submitted to the Scott Center for Spiritual and Religious Life at 443-5626.  If you have any questions, please email emckay@middlebury.edu. All applications will be treated confidentially and each request will be considered based on individual circumstances.

Please Note:  Grant assistance through either the Chaplain’s Fund or the Fuel Assistance Program is considered taxable income and as such will be recorded as imputed employee income to ensure federal, state, Medicare and social security taxation.
