Before you begin working: Students MUST complete the federally mandated I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification Form and a W-4 federal tax withholding form at the Student Employment Office in order to be eligible to work (see 'Employment Eligibity' for more details). Once the required paperwork has been completed the student will receive a 'blue card' indicating that they are eligible to work on campus. Students CANNOT WORK or be paid until they have completed their employment paperwork and received a blue card!
NOTE: All Student employees are limited to working no more than 20 hours per week in on campus jobs during the academic year. The only exception is when there is a full week when school is not in session. Specifically, February recess, Spring recess, and full weeks of December recess. During these time periods only, students can work up to 40 hours per week.

NOTE: Middlebury International Students (non-resident aliens) must request permission from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to work for an employer other than Middlebury College. See the office of International Student and Scholar Services for more information.
