Faculty Grants 2000-2001
During the 2000-2001 fiscal year faculty members were once again awarded over $1 million from government agencies and private sponsors to support their research and other projects; 27 faculty members received a total of 39 grants and fellowships. In addition, faculty efforts (involving an additional 3 faculty members) resulted in two institutional grants to support the academic program. These faculty represent 14 of the College's academic departments, including all the departments in the Natural Sciences Division. The grants will support 38 student/faculty collaborations over the next few years as well as travel to research sites and conferences, research supplies, publication costs and other project expenses. Eleven of the grants provide some support for faculty leaves and six faculty grants include funding for scientific equipment. More than 30% of the faculty submitted at least one grant proposal; nearly half of those submitting proposals received at least one grant.
Copies of the full report are available to Middlebury faculty and staff from the Sponsored Research Office by email. Contact Franci Farnsworth (x5889) for more information.
