LGBTQ Counseling & Support Services

Bisexual Information and Counseling Incorporated (BICS) includes information and counseling on health and relationship issues, as well as general and professional discussion groups. The BICS hotline is available at 212-595-8002. 

Center Gender Identity Project
 provides support for transgender people, peer counseling, support groups, referral, advocacy, professional training on gender dysphoria. Their hotline is available at 212-620-7310, ext-251.

It Gets Better Project is an organization whose mission is to communicate to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth around the world that it gets better, and to create and inspire the changes needed to make it better for them.

Matthew's Place includes resources for getting involved in the community, networking, and many other resources related to LGBT issues.

Parents and Friends of Lesbian and Gays (PFLAG)
 is a support group for parents of gay children to help them understand and accept their son/daughter. Their hotline is available at 212-463-0629.  

The Trevor Project
 is a nonprofit endeavor created by the makers of the short film Trevor to promote tolerance for gay and questioning youth. Their hotline is available at 866-4-U-TREVOR.
