Campus Planning

Campus Planning

Middlebury’s campus 2008 Master Plan guides the College’s growth and development for the next 50 years, emphasizing upgrading building envelopes to improve energy efficiency and creating a more pedestrian-friendly campus. The strategic plan outlines future institutional development, and Middlebury has also developed its own Sustainable Design Guidelines, which requires all projects to be built, at minimum, to LEED Silver standards.

Lands Advisory Committee

The Lands Advisory Committee, part of the Land Stewardship Initiative, is a group of Middlebury College community members who help recommend responsible stewardship of the College’s land.

Construction and Demolition Policy

In keeping with Middlebury’s commitment to thoughtful environmental stewardship, we have established a set of best practices regarding construction and demolition on campus.

Planning and Design

Middlebury has established a set of guiding principles for planning and design that outline the College’s environmental goals pertaining to construction, renovation, operation, and maintenance of campus facilities.
