Photo of Om Gokhale '22

Om Gokhale ’22 is a designer, researcher, and graduate student at the MIT Media Lab’s Center for Constructive Communication. He studies how humans interact with artificial intelligence, and how these interactions influence civic life and political polarization. Outside of academia, Om has spent the last decade as a founding designer or consultant for emerging technology companies across North America, Europe, and Asia. He has presented his research at the MIT Museum and, while at IBM, received an international Red Dot Award for Interface Design. Om graduated from Middlebury College with a B.A. in Humane Design, a custom major focused on studying technology through the lenses of art, ethical philosophy, psychology, and public policy. While at Middlebury, he held leadership positions in Residential Life, the Judicial Board, and the Activities Board, and was an ambassador to the College Museum of Art.
