Graduation is almost here. Which is exciting… and a little surreal. One minute you’re planning Senior Week, the next you’re wondering what happens to all the career support you’ve been using on campus. Here’s the good news: you don’t lose it.

The Center for Careers and Internships (CCI) continues to support you after you graduate, and there are a few quick things you can do now to make sure future you is set up for success. Consider this your senior checklist.

Your Middlebury network doesn’t end at graduation. It gets bigger

Start with Midd2Midd.

If you haven’t explored it yet, Midd2Midd connects you directly with alumni who want to help. Whether you’re looking for industry insights, career advice, or introductions, this is one of the easiest ways to start building your professional network right now.

Before May gets busy, take a minute to update your profile so alumni can find and support you.

Yes, you keep Handshake after graduation

Your Handshake account doesn’t disappear when you graduate, but you do need to update it.

This takes about three minutes and makes sure you can keep applying to jobs and seeing opportunities after you leave campus:

  • Switch your account to a personal email
  • Create a password if you used single sign-on
  • Update your graduation year to Alumni
  • Upload your latest résumé

It’s a small task now that saves a lot of stress later.

Want to feel more confident in interviews? Practice first.

CCI now offers Big Interview, a tool designed to help you prepare before the real thing.

You can practice mock interviews for jobs, internships, and graduate school using AI-powered feedback and on-demand video lessons. That means you can rehearse answers, refine your delivery, and build confidence anytime… in your dorm, at home, or wherever life takes you next.

The 20-minute LinkedIn graduation glow-up

Before finals and celebrations take over, spend a little time updating LinkedIn. These quick changes can make a big difference in visibility to recruiters:

  • Add your graduation date and degree
  • Turn on the “Open to Work” setting (if you’re looking)
  • Upload a professional photo
  • Add internships, research, and campus roles

Small updates now can lead to big opportunities later.

CCI doesn’t disappear after commencement

You can still meet with CCI advisors after you graduate. Advisors are available to help with:

  • Job search strategy
  • Résumé and LinkedIn reviews
  • Offer decisions and negotiations
  • Post-grad planning

You don’t have to figure out the next chapter on your own.

One more thing: an event just for seniors

If you’re feeling excited, uncertain, or somewhere in between, you’re not alone. That’s exactly what Class of 2026: Office Hours for the Real World with Trustee Leilani Brown ’93 is all about.

This interactive session tackles the real questions seniors are asking right now: launching your job search, building relationships, making strong first impressions, and figuring out what comes after your first job.

Come early to hear the Mischords perform and stay for dessert, door prizes, copies of Leilani’s books, and a book signing.
